Sorry for my absence everyone! I’m just here to say that I’ve got a new tumblr, where I post photographs that I’ve taken from my holidays or from exploring new places.

I had originally started this blog to talk about fashion and style and trends, but I found myself writing less original material, and simply reblogging other people’s photos… Nothing against that, but it just wasn’t what I had wanted for my own blog.

I find my new tumblr a lot more personal, as the photos there were taken by me and shows more of who I am and how I view things.

Thank you to everyone for your support and do check out the new blog!

Known perhaps more for her Cat Daddy dance or her barely clad body in the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue than her modelling, Kate Upton is currently all the rage in the fashion world. Upton has been criticised for being too sexy, and even too fat, for the fashion world. Not one to back down, Upton has since been in editorials in several high-fashion magazines. Here she is in Vogue America, wearing a belted dress and trousers from the Calvin Klein Collection, and proving that she is more than just a skimpy swimsuit model.Photograph by Steven Meisel

The sweet and lovely Wouter “Wally” De Backer aka Gotye at Laneway Singapore.

As a follow-up to my previous post with Gotye’s Save Me… Here he is at the Laneway Festival in Singapore. He really was quite brilliant that night, and according to those in the press pit, was a super duper lovely bloke too.

Save Me by Gotye

I first properly heard Gotye’s music during his set at the Laneway Festival in Singapore in January and I really loved it. Here’s one of his songs that really stood out for me, but I personally feel it’s so much better when performed live and with Gotye getting the crowds of fans to sing along. Enjoy!

20 listens

Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2013 Couture

One can hardly be surprised that Elie Saab’s Spring 2013 Couture collection was bursting at the seams with red carpet-worthy gowns. After all, Saab’s creations have proven to be regulars at award shows, with celebs like Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson, and Dakota Fanning (to name a few) wearing his designs on the red carpet.

This collection saw Saab roll out oh so pretty floor-skimming gowns, which made more than one model stumble, and ladylike midi-length party dresses. The dresses came in varying pastel shades, as well as contrasting pops of red and black. They came with glittering beaded embroidery and sheer fabrics, with delicate lace and modest necklines, with embellished bustiers and flowing capes. Though usually working with solid colours, Saab presented several dresses with a light multicoloured flowery print and detailed with black beading. The show-stopper was the final look (seen in the photo above); the lights dimmed and brightened to dramatically reveal, to applause, a wedding dress with an exaggerated skirt to rival Marie Antoinette’s, with intricate lace and embroidery details on both the skirt as well as the veil.

All in all, though he didn’t break any design barriers, Saab once again delivered gorgeous, form-flattering, and above all, elegant gowns that many women would love to wear.

Here are some of my favourite looks from the collection:

I’ve taken a shine to Karlie Kloss lately. She looks remarkably like Aussie songstress Delta Goodrem in this photo from the Elie Saab Spring 2012 ad campaign, and that thigh-high slit is to die for.Photograph by Cedric Buchet
